Entries will be taken at the Sheep Barn from 10am-11am. This event is open to entries throughout the Middle Park area. Bring a plate of six cookies made from your favorite recipe. There are three divisions; 8 and under; 9 – 18; Over 18. The Grand and Summit County Board of Commissioners will begin judging at 11am. Cash Prizes will be awarded.

The Mayor’s Pie contest is open to entries throughout the Middle Park area. Pies can be of any flavor and entrants may have more than one pie entered in the contest. Judges for the contest will be mayors from Grand and Summit County towns. Entrants must enter their pies 10am-11am at the Sheep Barn. Cash Prizes will be awarded. Trophy in memory of Clyde & Margaret Underbrink.

This is a fun event for youth of all ages to dress up their favorite small pet in a cute, scary, funny, or unique costume. Cash prizes, sponsored by the Cameron family, will also be awarded to the best dressed pets.

The Challenge: Create a delicious salsa. A panel of local judges will judge your salsa on aroma, consistency, appropriate heat level, color, taste, and after taste. Salsa Inspired prizes TBD.
There will also be a people’s choice award voted on by all the salsa
tasters. Cash price for the most voted for salsa.
Contestant Cost: $5 per salsa, drop off salsas by 10:45am at the Beef Barn.
Tasting Fee: TBD includes one people’s choice vote and one taste of each salsa. Tastings will be from 11am until 3pm or salsa runs out.
Rules: Make and bring one quart of salsa (1 quart jars). Multiple entries are permitted. Fill out a registration for each salsa you will be entering; include a description of your salsa (mild, medium, hot) or if it has possible allergens. Set up or drop off salsa by 10:45am at the beef barn. Pick up salsa by 4pm. All salsa contestant entries will be given a number and salsas will be labeled on the salsa table with the salsa description. Judges and people’s choice voters will vote using the numbers.

The matched races will have stock horses under western saddles vying for top bragging rights. The fastest two horses will come back for the final heat. The races will begin near the horse barns and the finish linewill be at the main grandstands. There will be a Calcutta before the race and a Dinner Bell Derby afterward. Free to spectators with general admission. Unlike “regular” rodeo, the competition is made of teams with 4 members. The cowboys and their ranch horses compete in 4 events that showcase their skills and know how ranch hands practice daily. Each team competes to see which team can get all the events done fastest. Events include, but are not limited to Team Doctoring, Trailer Loading, Calf Branding, Team Penning and Team Sorting. Cash added purse.
